An arborist who will tell you the truth

A lot of trees get cut down that did not need to be, and a lot of dangerous trees get left standing because nobody looked closely. Our ISA Certified Arborist is trained in tree biology, pruning standards, and how trees fail. The job is simple: look at your tree and tell you what is really going on.

Sometimes the answer is a good pruning and some patience. Sometimes it is cabling a weak fork. And sometimes the tree has to come down before it falls. Either way, you get a clear reason, not a sales pitch.

When to call an arborist

  • Leaves turning early, thinning, or browning at the top
  • Mushrooms, cankers, or oozing on the trunk
  • Cracks, splits, or a new lean
  • A tree near the house you want checked before storm season
  • Damage from construction, trenching, or a new driveway near the roots
  • A real estate, HOA, or insurance question about a tree

What our arborist checks

Tree health

Leaves, bark, and canopy for signs of disease, pests, and stress common in Memphis oaks, maples, and pines.

Structure and risk

Weak forks, cracks, decay, root problems, and how likely the tree is to fail, plus what it would hit.

Pruning plan

What to cut, when, and why, so the tree grows stronger instead of weaker.

Save or remove

A straight answer on whether the tree can be saved. If it cannot, we can remove it safely.

Common questions

What is an ISA Certified Arborist?

A tree care professional certified by the International Society of Arboriculture after passing an exam on tree biology, pruning, safety, and tree risk, and who keeps up with continuing education.

Can you tell if my tree is dying?

Often, yes. Thinning or browning at the top, dead limbs, peeling bark, fungus at the base, and early leaf drop are common signs. An arborist can tell the difference between a stressed tree and a dying one.

Can you save a sick tree?

Sometimes. Pruning out dead wood, fixing soil and water problems, and treating some pests can bring a tree back. If the tree cannot be saved, we will tell you.

Do I need an arborist or just a tree service?

If you already know the tree has to come down, you need a tree service. If you are not sure, or the tree is valuable, have an arborist look first. We do both.
